Bougainvillea Plant (Orange)

Bougainvillea is a genus of flowering plants native to South America from Brazil west to Peru and south to southern Argentina. Bougainvillea are also known as buganvillea, or bugambilia. The plant is sometimes referred to as “paper flower” because the bracts are thin and papery. Bougainvillea grow as woody vines or bushes and can be grown as houseplants or outdoors in temperate climates.

Bougainvillea are known for their showy flowers, which are actually modified leaves called bracts. The flowers themselves are small and inconspicuous. The bracts of some species can be very colorful, ranging from white to deep purple or pink.

Bougainvillea are fast-growing plants that can reach up to 30 feet (9 m) in length. They are often used as ornamental plants in gardens and as potted plants on patios and balconies. The plant can be trained to grow on trellises or other support structures.

Bougainvillea are relatively easy to care for and can be propagated from stem cuttings. They require well-drained soil and full sun to bloom well.
